About Education in Czech Republic
Czech Republic, also known as Czechia(2016, onwards), is a Central Europe country with a population of approximately 10.5 million. Prag, the capital, is the biggest city of the country. Curreny of the country is Czech Koruna. Country’s calling code is 420 and local time difference with Turkey is 1 hour.
Undergraduate education takes 3 or 4 years in the country and this forms first stage of the higher education. This stage ends with a final state examination, which usually includes the presentation and defence of a thesis. Successful graduates may enter the labour market or continue their studies in follow up Master’s programmes.
Master´s degree programmes may either follow on from Bachelor´s programmes as follow up programmes as 1 to 3 years, or they may be full programmes as 4 to 6 years. Programmes focus on the acquisition and application of theoretical knowledge.
Doctoral programmes are intended for graduates from Master´s programmes and focus on independent creative work in research and development. Doctoral studies are completed by way of a state doctoral examination and the public presentation and defence of a doctoral thesis.

Teaching period starts in mid September, consists of 2 semesters and ends with starting of the examinations in mid May.
The deadline for submitting applications is the end of February or March, but there might be some later deadlines too.
Tuition in Czech language is free. The fees differ from 2500 $ - 15000 $ per year and the amount depends on the relevant institution and study programme, for tuition in other languages. There are several courses taught in English or in another foreign language.
Some Czech higher education institutions might grant scholarships for excellent study results or in cases of hard circumstances of a student.
