IFNMU was established in 1945. It is located in Galyskastreet 2, 76018 Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine. University consists of 12 hospitals and clinics. It is one of the few Universities designated as a "National Medical University" by the Government of Ukraine. It is member of association of universities, European association of universities, World Health Organization, and other international organizations. About 4000+ foreign students are studying from all over the world including USA, Western Europe, Australia, Africa, India and other parts of Asia. University offers a wide infrastructure containing 48 departments. IFNMU Library is a recipient of prize (2nd position) of All Ukrainian Contest "Library of the year 2009"
We introducing new ways of education to improve student learning by bedside teaching. Professional training of doctors performed in 51 departments. The training process is carried out by 73 (phd) doctors and 231 candidates of sciences. Among university scientists 6 academicians, 6 Honoured Scientists of Ukraine, 2 Honoured workers of higher education of Ukraine, two Laureates of State Prize of Ukraine.
