Usage of Infinitives

  1. As Subjects of a Sentence

    • Example: "To swim is fun." (Here, "To swim" is the subject of the sentence.)
  2. After Certain Verbs

    • Example: "She wants to travel the world." (Here, "to travel" follows the verb "wants.")
  3. To Express Purpose

    • Example: "I study hard to pass the exam." (Here, "to pass" explains the purpose of studying hard.)
  4. After Adjectives

    • Example: "It’s important to stay healthy." (Here, "to stay" follows the adjective "important.")
