Otherwise

  • Usage: Indicates the result or consequence of not following a certain condition or instruction. It can be used to show what will happen if something is not done.
  • Structure: Main Clause + otherwise + Result Clause
  • Example: "Please submit the report by Friday, otherwise you will be fined." 

Or Else

  • Usage: Similar to "otherwise," it is used to warn of a negative consequence if a certain action is not taken. It often implies a more urgent or threatening outcome.
  • Structure: Action + or else + Result
  • Example: "You need to finish your homework now, or else you won't be able to watch TV."
