• Can be used for actions (repeated activities) and states (situations or conditions).

Example:

• I used to play soccer every weekend. (This was a regular activity in the past, but I don't play anymore.)
• She used to live in New York. (This was a situation in the past, but she doesn't live there anymore.)

Would:

• Also describes repeated actions or habits in the past, but cannot be used for states.
• Often used with a specific time reference or context to emphasize the repeated nature.

Example:

• When I was a child, we would visit my grandparents every summer. (This was a regular activity during my childhood.)
• On Sundays, he would go fishing with his father. (This was a regular activity on Sundays.)
