1. Use the Present Simple in Time Clauses:

    • Even if the action is in the future, we use the present simple tense in the time clause.
      • Example: "I will call you when I get home." (Not "when I will get home.")
  2. Main Clause Uses Future Tense:

    • The main clause (the part of the sentence that can stand alone) will use a future tense, usually will or be going to.
      • Example: "She will start cooking after she finishes her work."
  3. Common Time Conjunctions:

    • When: "I will text you when I arrive."
    • After: "We will go out after it stops raining."
    • Before: "She will clean the house before her parents come."
    • As soon as: "He will call you as soon as he arrives."
    • Until: "We will wait here until the bus arrives."
    • While: "She will read a book while she waits."

Examples:

  1. When:

    • "I will start dinner when you get home."
    • "We will leave when the rain stops."
  2. After:

    • "He will call you after he finishes his meeting."
    • "They will travel to Paris after they save enough money."
  3. Before:

    • "She will pack her bags before she leaves for the trip."
    • "I will do my homework before I go to bed."
  4. As soon as:

    • "I will send you the document as soon as I finish it."
    • "They will let us know as soon as they arrive."
  5. Until:

    • "We will stay here until the storm passes."
    • "She will not go to bed until she finishes her book."
  6. While:

    • "He will listen to music while he works."
    • "She will watch TV while she waits for her friend."
